A DUI put in plain words means, an alcohol level above the legal limit at which an individual is subject to legal penalties. DUI laws in most states have a current legal limit for operating a motor vehicle set at 0.08%, but only for drivers who are 21 years or older. What you can be charged with:

  • a misdemeanor for driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs
  • a misdemeanor for driving with .08% or more of alcohol in your blood
  • a felony DUI where an injury results from the drunk driving

      (Any person who, while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, or under the combined influence of intoxicating liquor and any drug, drives a vehicle and when so driving does any act forbidden by law or neglects any duty imposed by law in the driving of such vehicle, which act or neglect proximately causes bodily injury to any person other than himself, is guilty of a felony.
